At today's (2 July) press conference, Dr Wingco Lo, President of CMA, said that the association, with over 80 years of experience in organising large scale exhibitions, has established a good reputation among the business community, citizens, and tourists. In respond to the trend of locals going north for spending, CMA will put in extra efforts to create a more delightful and thrilling shopping experience to attract a larger number of visitors and tourists. He continued, “As the city is implementing the concept of 'Tourism is everywhere in Hong Kong' and developing the mega event economy, we believe that these approaches can create synergy with CMA exhibitions. We suggest the government promote 'tourism plus' by integrating travel with iconic exhibitions, thereby generating long-term and sustainable economic benefits for Hong Kong.”
As the graduation season approaches, the 30th Hong Kong International Education and Careers Expo to be held on 6 and 7 July at Hall 5G, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre takes the lead as the first exposition in line. This expo is divided into three thematic zones, namely Overseas and Mainland China Education Zone, Local Education Zone, and Careers Square, bringing together more than 1,000 colleges, educational institutes and consulting firms from over 20 countries and regions.
The expo serves as a one-stop platform for students and working adults at different education levels to gather information on various study options, including pre-university, diploma, undergraduate, postgraduate, professional and vocational courses. Visitors can also engage with experts from various sectors to gain in-depth understanding of industry prospects, entry qualification, and career ladder. This engagement will greatly assist them in career planning.
At the Careers Square, over 50 organisations and companies will offer more than 2,000 job opportunities. Prominent employers include Hong Kong's five disciplinary forces, Ocean Park, and a variety of private sector entities, such as banks, insurance companies, real estate developers, and more. Some of these employers will provide on-the-spot interviews.
Mr Ivan Sze, Vice President of the CMA and Chairman of CMA Exhibition Services Ltd, said that the world is undergoing an industrial transformation driven by innovation and technology, which is reshaping the job market. The expo features more than 40 seminars covering a wide range of popular and practical topics to help students and jobseekers stay up-to-date with the latest trends in education and the job market.
