A.  About Studying in Taiwan
Higher education in Taiwan can be divided into two categories: Comprehensive Universities and Universities of Science and Technology focused on career development. According to the survey by the Department of International and Cross-strait Education (Taiwan) in 2020, there were nearly 100,000 overseas students studying in Taiwan, which including 7,807 Hong Kong students.  And the number of application of undergraduate, postgraduate degrees and doctorate degrees courses have increased by 26% and 150% respectively in 2021 compared to the same period last year from the report of Mainland Affairs Council (Taiwan). It shows the sharp rise in the demand of Hong Kong students studying in Taiwan.
 
After introducing the “334 scheme” in Hong Kong, the academic structure in Hong Kong and Taiwan are the same.  Hong Kong high school students can admit Taiwan universities after graduated. Taiwan’s tuition fees and living costs are comparatively lower than Hong Kong, and European & American countries. In this era of globalization, many Taiwan universities offer free international exchange opportunities, as well as dual degree programs to their students.  Meanwhile, Taiwan is close to Hong Kong and share similar cultures with Hong Kong, studying in Taiwan universities become one of the Hong Kong students’ favorite study abroad destinations.

B.  Brief Introduction of Exhibiting Universities in Taiwan
  • National Central University
National Central University (NCU) is a research-oriented university with long-standing traditions in Taiwan. Located in Zhongli, NCU has approximately 12,000 students, and there are 8 colleges, 28 departments, 18 graduate institutes. NCU aims to lead its faculty and students to create a learning environment with both strong humanistic concerns and academic research on its beautiful and culturally-rich campus, to provide students with global vision and diverse learning experiences, and to become one of the world’s top universities with unique characteristics.

 
  • Huafan University
Huafan University was founded in 1990 by Lingnanist Master Hiuwan, with supports from philanthropists all over the world. 
It is a university with traditional academy system.
A school of design and creativity,
A school of smart living technology,
A school combine humanities and Buddhism art.
Establish the first photography and VR Design Department in Asia. Huafan is the first university in Taiwan to fully integrate manufacturer/AI/VR education with department. All students in the school have their own independent working studio and guarantee on campus housing for four-years! There is no burden for four years’ university study.
Meanwhile, it also creates the unique customized learning system with honeycomb modular courses. With free course selection cross-departments and each student has chance to participate international exchange programs.
 
  • Fo Guang University​

Fo Guang University is founded by Master Xingyun of Fo Guang Shan, and it is also the first university in Yilan (located in northeastern Taiwan). In 2000, the "Foguang College of Humanities and Social Sciences" was founded to enroll students. The university department adopted small-class teaching. Each department mostly enrolled 30 to 40 students. In 2006, it was officially renamed "Foguang University." At present, Fo Guang University has 15 departments under the jurisdiction of 6 colleges such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Management, Creative and Technology, Lohas Industries, and Buddhism Studies, and all of them have master’s programs. The Department of Studies and the Department of Buddhism Studies have doctoral classes.

In addition, Fo Guang University attaches great importance to the learning of Hong Kong students. It has opened a Buddhist master's class in Hong Kong, and is applying for a Lohas master's class, hoping to inject a new education model into Hong Kong and benefit Hong Kong society.

 
  • Da-Yeh University
Established in March 1990, Da-Yeh University (DYU) aimed at pursuing the educational spirit of a German-style polytechnic university. DYU is devoted to excellence in “Equal Emphasis on Theory and Practice”, “Integration of Humanity and Technology”, “Apprenticeship” and “Academic-industry Collaboration”. With these educational spirits, DYU strives at cultivating high-quality and creative talents in professional domains. With great vision, Mr. Song-Gen Yeh, the school founder, and President Mr. Shui-Shen Liu founded Da-Yeh Industrial College in March 1990. Under Yeh and Liu’s leadership, Da-Yeh Industrial College attained great success in both academic and educational aspects and changed its name into Da-Yeh University (DYU) with official permission in August 1997. DYU currently consists of seven colleges: College of Engineering, College of Management, College of Design and Arts, College of Foreign Languages, College of Biotechnology and Bioresources, College of Tourism and Hospitality, and College of Nursing and Health. The total number of faculty members and enrolled students comes to approximately 10,000.

 
  • Chang Jung Christian University
Chang Jung Christian University was established in 1993 and has been 27 years since the university was founded. CJCU is evaluated as a 4-star university by QS Stars Rating. To keep pace with rapid changes due to globalization, and to develop international exchanges actively, it offers dual degree programs, exchange programs, short-term cultural exchange programs, summer camps, international internships and so on. CJCU has 9 faculties - College of Management, College of Humanities and Social Sciences, International College of Practice and Education for the Environment, School of Fine Arts, School of Theology, School of Information and Design, College of Health Sciences, School of Safety and Health Sciences. The number of students has grown to more than 8,000, among them 400 are from overseas countries. In addition, CJCU has many kinds of club for students to join. Everyone can experience different activities here.

 
  • Hungkuo Delin University of Technology
Hungkuo Delin University of Technology is located on a thirteen-hectare verdurous landscape in Tucheng District of New Taipei City, northern Taiwan. The school was founded in 1972 and financially supported by Hungkuo Construction and Affiliated Co., Ltd. in 1978. Hungkuo has been a well-known construction company in Taiwan and accomplished the masterpiece architectural landmark, Taipei 101. The Han-Chien Hall, a new campus building designed also by C.Y. Lee, the master architect of Taipei 101, has won a LEED Gold Award from the US Green Building Council. In addition to the university, Hungkuo Group has eight excellent hotels under the chain of Caesars Park Hotels and Resorts, with six hotels in Taipei region. Caesar Park Hotels and Resorts have equipped with the greatest number of guest rooms in Taiwan since 2018, which provides the corporate resources to facilitate the school development and a direct link to the intern opportunities for the students to gain practical workplace experience.

 
  • China University of Technology
China University of Technology (CUTe) was established in 1965 as “Chinese Institute of Municipal Administration” and was changed into its present title in 1983. The university has two campuses. Taipei campus measures 5 hectares in area, 5-minute walk to Wan Fang Hospital Metro Station. Hsinchu campus measures 14 hectares in area, 3-minute walk to Beihu Train Station with commuting trains every 10-15 minutes. Both campuses are beautiful, have excellent life functions and convenient transportation. The university provides diversified learning channels, including 3 colleges (College of Planning & Design, College of Management, and College of Computer Science), 15 departments/divisions.

 
  • Tajen University
Tajen University (TJU) is located in the "Green Silicon Valley" at Southern Taiwan. The campus is only minutes from Pingtung Agricultural Biotechnology Park, where TJU has worked with companies to develop university-industry cooperative research projects. Located in the heart of Pingtung Green Silicon Valley, TJU is specialized in Chinese Herbal Medicine, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Nursing and Recreation Studies.  It is the one and only university which establish the clinical skill center joined by both Pharmacy and Nursing Departments. In addition, TJU is the only university that owns Pharmacy、Nursing and Pet caring and grooming majors in Taiwan.   TJU is also close to one of the most artistic cities- Pingtung where is full of rich tourism resources, such as hipster's coffee shops, Pingtung Performing Arts Center, and Pingtung Central Park. The peaceful learning environment of the campus is hardly found in other cities.
